DFW Sponsored Dinner at Austin 2009 - Thoughts? 1 Year, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
All,

Yes Stacey so graciously signed us up to help collect the money and figure out what we want for dinner Friday night in Austin.

Here is the link to donate to the dinner www.txcobraclub.com/dfw-sponsored-dinner

I need suggestions for what to get... and we may need some other little things (adult beverages) as we have to try to match what the Austin group does

Thanks

Chris

Chris, last year both the other groups had their night catered entirely by rolling food service outfits. We usually do BBQ, so I suggest looking into one of the BBQ caterers in that area.

I told Stacey I would be available to provide logistic support, run and get things, etc. She probably doesn't know who I am, so just put me down as a gofer.

Does Stacey have a record of those of us that donated at the meeting today? As far as what to cater, I assume it will depend some what on the amount collected. BBQ is good as long as we can afford to provide it. Another option might be something like fried chicken and side dishes. We (Don Barnes and myself) will be bringing the margarita machine and the fixins and we'll have the Big Rig to operate out of. We'll have music and sound equipment as well.

Jim,

Now that would have made sense to keep a log... but since it was a bit spur of the moment we did not

I know there were some others that could not make the meeting or were not prepared to make a donation (I very seldomly have more than $80 cash on me)

Hopefully the donation site make it easier. I will talk to the Austin guys to get an idea on number... I asked stacey to plan for ~200 people. Now she needs to get some ideas and see what we can afford

All,

Just wanted to let everyone know we are still looking for additional donations to meet our goals to do a proper job on this

Currently there are 103 rooms reserved with each having two people we are at over 200...let's just say the original budget Stacey had is running a bit short.

If you have not contributed yet please do. Our guidance is what you would spend for 3 dinners for you and your guest as that is what you are really getting. Well excluding adult beverages

The online donation should make it really easy... I have some suggestions built in and you can go higher or lower.

See you all soon

Thanks

Chris
